Flagship Training had ambitious growth plans and asked Agilier to help review these plans and investigate whether their existing organisation was capable of meeting these challenges. Using a series of facilitated workshops and drawing on the principles of Lean Manufacturing, we produced an action plan for senior management and facilitated the process change. This led to a pilot project which reduced the time-to-completion by two-thirds and a six-figure cost saving.
Agilier was very pleased to work with key stakeholders at Bradshaws Direct by leading a series of business-change workshops that resulted in demonstrable business cost savings.
EADS DCS UK had an issue with a long-standing programme being delivered to a highly documentation-centric waterfall process. Many change requests were being received and new requirements were being requested simultaneously. In addition, internal corporate compliance practices were also being imposed on the programme. These factors were leading to a paralysis in delivery, so Agilier was asked to intervene to improve the delivery of business value.
Working closely with key project members, we were able to determine the root causes of the problems and produced a delivery method that incorporated and aligned all the programme and corporate governance mechanisms, as well as some agile delivery techniques. Hence, we were able to:
introduce new agile working practices to the delivery team in a planned and non-threatening manner;
bring together the programme stakeholders to prioritise the features that would bring the greatest business benefit;
educate all parties to a new regime of regular delivery of system features.
Agilier provided the only UK representative on an Anglo-Franco-German programme to harmonise system development processes across EADS Europe. By using our experience of agile methodology design, we ensured that the process was as non-prescriptive as possible, potentially saving up to 50% on programme costs.
EADS DCS UK was set a demanding timetable by its parent company for the introduction of the enterprise resource planning system, SAP. This affected every key function in the company and Agilier was asked to ensure that the core business processes were correctly implemented. By holding a series of facilitated workshops with the key stakeholders, we were able to perform a business change analysis, ensuring that the core processes of the core projects would be covered by the new system. In addition, we produced a an acceptance test plan and a communication/training plan.
Agilier provided mentoring services to a team of enterprise business modellers who were capturing the company's primary business processes as part of the installation of an Oracle E-business system. By using facilitated workshops with all the key business users, we achieved early stakeholder agreement and also captured key business requirements. As a result of this initial stakeholder consensus, resultant system changes were reduced by 80% compared to conventional interviewing techniques.
Agilier provided leadership for a team of fifteen, from inception through to delivery to the MoD, using agile methodologies (Scrum and XP) integrated within a PRINCE2 environment. This web-based system was Cogent’s first to be delivered using XP techniques and was delivered on time, to scope and within its budget.
Cogent wanted to investigate a cost-effective way of integrating disparate software systems. Agilier provided the subject-matter expertise for a successful prototype system using a service-oriented architecture (SoA).
Domain Solutions is a consultancy producing and supporting leading software development code-generation tools. Agilier was asked to provide support for a modelling exercise involving the Digital Business Ecosystem – a cutting-edge service-oriented peer-to-peer development platform used to deploy business services to SMEs. We were able to provide the modelling skills to successfully bridge the gap between the user requirements and the system code developed by the Domain Solutions staff.
