Ordering some more Post-its the other day reminded me of the story of their discovery at
the 3M company. The adhesive was invented nearly fifty years ago but
then languished in the company's achieve as no-one could think of an
application for it. Many years later, another 3M employee wondered
whether there was anything in his company's archive that could
prevent the scraps of paper falling from his hymn-book
when he was singing in the choir...
